Women's Equality Day

 Women's Equality Day is commemorated in the United States on August 26 to proclaim the 1920 adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment (Amendment XIX) to the United States Constitution, which hinders the states and the federal government from withholding the right to vote to citizens of the United States on the basis of sex. It was first celebrated in 1972, designated by Congress in 1973, and is proclaimed each year by the United States President. The colour of Women's Equality Day is purple. You can wear purple on this day to express solidarity. You can get a purple band made out of latex or rubber and wear it on your wrist to show solitary. There are bands that are made out of woven threads and cloth as well that you can opt for. Elizabeth Cady Stanton died in 1902. Today, a statue of Stanton, with fellow women's rights activists Susan B. Anthony and Lucretia Mott stand in the rotunda of the U.S. Capitol.

Women's empowerment is really needed in societies. It's so significant for women self-esteem and furthermore for societies. Empowering women is to give women the right. Women can amass an equal right to participate in education, society, economy and politically. In some societies, women are still discerned on their gender. They are not given the same right as men. Women are still paid less, expected to cook, clean etc. Women are still strict by their culture and family. As women can’t go out at gloaming or with the guys. Some Cambodian women are deduced by their parents or husband. They still not allowed women to work or study far away from their home because they acknowledged that women are weaker than men and some husbands get jealously. In addition, some women in Cambodia get married at a young age and some also forced to marry by their parents.

Women’s empowerment is really needed in societies. It’s so important for women self-esteem and also for societies. Empowering women is to give women the right. Women can have an equal right to participate in education, society, economy and politically. Women can involve in society as they are glad to choose their religion, language, work and other activities. Women are allowed loftier education as men. They can go with the high-level of pedagogy, finish their classes, learn the aptitude and study whatever they want. Women also can join the politically as they have the right to vote and do some activities in political. Empowerment helps to reduce domestic violence due to people promote and give value to women. Women are not abused by any factors such as sexual abuse, vigorous abuse and physical abuse. These day women are achieving high-level job just as a man does. Some women are endorsed to become a president, leader, chief of the commune and other high-level positions. And there are many women now are participating in society, politically, education and economically.

Although the strike did not bring about immediate change, it was extraordinarily successful in demonstrating the breadth of support for women’s rights, and the press coverage it received drew significant attention to the feminist movement. For example, the New York Times’s coverage of the strike marked the publication’s first article about the movement. The strike also helped to secure passage of the Equal Rights Amendment by Congress in 1971–72; the amendment subsequently failed to be ratified by the required three-fourths of the state legislatures, however. In 1971 Congress officially recognized August 26 as Women’s Equality Day, which not only commemorates the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment but also highlights the continued efforts of women to achieve full equality.
